Like most women in my situation, recently divorced with kids, I’ve found myself feeling small and lost. In this new chapter of my life I’ve had more questions than I’ve had answers to: How am I going to make money? How am I going to afford my life? Who am I by myself? What do I want out of my life? The questions go on and on. As an avid reader I reached out to books to fill in the gaps in my knowledge and confidence, in addition to therapy, which I cannot promote enough!
I probably have enough books to register as a private library and in my library these are my go to books for feeling better about myself and my situation:
You are a badass
By Jen Sincero
Jen has a way of giving it to her readers straight that I love. I’m the type of person that needs black and white, in my face, shut up and listen advice because I get lost in my own gray way of thinking.

The 5 second rule
By Mel Robins
This book changed my life. The simple concept of 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, GO, helps take the brain out of it and action into it. Mel teaches the importance of getting up and going and never, ever, ever reaching for the snooze button. Like a rocket being launched, launch your life into action with the 5 second rule.

You are a badass at making money
by Jen Sincero
I love Jen Sincero and her introduction of source energy. Badass At Making Money is a follow up on her original You Are A Badass. She points out that if you really give yourself over to source energy the universe will provide.
Pretty much I love all things Jen Sincero!

Girl Wash Your Face
By Rachel Hollis
Rachel Hollis is Christian and does mention her faith in this book, though if you are anti Christianity she doesn’t go overboard. I may be biased as a Christian myself, but I thought her mention of faith was very tasteful. Girl wash your face made me take a good hard look at what my false beliefs were that I grew up with and how they were holding me back. This book made me feel such grace for myself and my flaws, while also giving me a kick in the butt about my self limiting beliefs.

Do Less
By Kate Northrup
I feel like this book was made for me! Having been constantly surrounded by chronically busy people this book made me feel good about working less! Her advice helped me be more focused in a shorter amount of time rather than who believed that the busier they are means they are more productive and successful.
